About the ranchers.

Matt & Erica

Matt & Erica met on the first day she moved to Stillwater, OK where they were each pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma State University. Since that fateful day in August 2000 they have each continued their educations with Matt earning a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and Erica going back to school for a career change and earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Matt is the Agriculture Education Instruction at Claremore High School, and Erica is a Registered Nurse working as a Surgical Nurse. In addition to her involvement with the ranch and her career as an RN, Erica is also a member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard with over 20 years of military service. Matt and Erica make their home with their three children, McKenzie, Gus, and Perry at the family ranch in Langley, while managing the day to day operations of Beacon Hill Ranch. Both Matt and Erica are active in a number of cattle and agriculture related organizations including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, the Oklahoma Hereford Association, and the Oklahoma Club Calf Association.

Ethan & Roxane

After many years showing more heifers & steers than we can count, Roxane moved to OSU, graduating with a degree in Animal Science. She then became a paralegal, worked for a law firm in Tulsa, OK, and later went to the University of Tulsa College of Law graduating with a juris doctorate degree. While attending law school, Roxane and Ethan Mock met and tied the knot in May 2017. Ethan graduated from OSU with a degree in Agribusiness and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Tulsa. Rox and Ethan both currently practice as attorneys in the Tulsa, OK, area. During her years as a junior exhibitor, Rox served on several boards including the National Junior Hereford Association Board. She closed out her junior show career at the 2010 JNHE being selected as both Reserve Champion Senior Showman and Herdsman of the Year. Ethan grew up in the rodeo and horse industries. Ethan’s family’s legacy is founding and running Mock Brothers Saddlery in Sand Springs, OK. Rox and Ethan are both currently involved in the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, American Hereford Association, and Oklahoma Bar Association. Following in the footsteps of Richard and Erica, Rox is also active in pursuing a military career in the Air National Guard. Although Rox and Ethan are currently getting on their feet as young attorneys, they have dreams of purchasing land and running cows in the near future.

Susan

Though Richard passed away in May of 2015, his presence and influence remain integral every day. Susan and Richard both grew up in families that taught them to love the cattle and respect the land. As fourth generation ranchers, they cared for land that’s been in the family over 100 years. They committed to preserving the ranch for generations to come. The next generation is now charting the course and continuing the tradition with an eye towards raising modern, efficient Hereford breeding cattle. Susan is a rancher emeritus at this point and spends her time managing grandkids and Three Twenty on Main, an event venue in Claremore. She remains active in a variety of industry-related organizations including the Rogers County Fair Board, Oklahoma Hereford Association, Oklahoma Club Calf Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, and various shows & fairs in Oklahoma.
