About Us
Started in 1907 when John Millikan moved from Missouri and settled near Langley, OK the ranch has been home to the family and the herd since 1909. The land and the cattle have been handed down from one generation to the next with each generation refining the herd and adding their own mark. Though the names have changed, Millikan – Sloan – Gebhart & Boyer, the commitment to the cattle and the land remains constant.
Like many families managing multi-generation cattle herds, our work is a collaborative effort. We all have town jobs and spend all of our “free time” in pursuit of raising the “good ones” and caring for the land. Each member of the family brings a specific set of skills, but we all work toward a common goal.
Whatever brought you to our site we hope you’ll take a moment to get to know us and then come back often or give us a call.

Richard and Susan We met at the University of Arkansas, married and traveled the world while Richard served in the Army. About the time my grandfather, Floyd Sloan, became unable to manage the ranch; Richard accepted a teaching position at the University of Tulsa. We moved to Claremore and took over management of the cattle. While making a life in Oklahoma, we followed the example my grandparents, Floyd and Wilma, set by being active in the community and the industry.
Richard teaches in the College of Business at TU and I work for a medical education firm. We’re both active in the ranch and volunteer for various cattle organizations including the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, Oklahoma Hereford Association, Oklahoma Club Calf Association, American Hereford Association and various shows and fairs in Oklahoma.

Matt and Erica After years of showing cattle in junior shows around Oklahoma, Erica left home; first for Air Force Basic Training and then on to her favorite town on earth – Stillwater, America and Oklahoma State University. We’re not sure if she found Matt or Matt found her, but it wasn’t too long before Matt Boyer from Hunter, OK joined the family. Soon after, Erica got him moved to the ranch in Langley where, according to Mr. Boyer, there are way too many trees and the ground is not nearly flat enough. Matt is the Ag Ed Instructor at Claremore High School and Erica works for a medical education firm. Matt and Erica manage the herd on a daily basis. Erica continues to serve in the Oklahoma Air Force National Guard. In November 2007, the Boyer clan grew by one head with the very welcome addition of Miss McKenzie SLoan Boyer. Our new showman should be ready for the ring in 2015! Both she and Matt are active in a number of cattle and agriculture related organizations including: the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, the Oklahoma Hereford Association, the Oklahoma Club Calf Association, and the American Hereford Association.

Roxane After many years, more heifers & steers than we can count and thousands of miles in the truck dragging to every show we could find, Roxane graduated, and moved to Stillwater and has started selling show cattle to other junior exhibitors. She is currently mentoring Bryce and Adrienne Bethel as they progress in their cattle knowledge and showmanship skills. Rox took a break from OSU to go to Basic Training and Technical School at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, but will be attending OSU majoring in Ag Comm /An Sci and coming home to help with the cattle in the spring of 2008. Roxane recently became engaged to Mark Sullivan from Chehalis, Washington and is actively involved in the Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen’s Association, the Junior Hereford Association of Oklahoma, the National Junior Hereford Association, and Block & Bridle, Oklahoma Collegiate Cattlewomen, and is a member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
